When creating a GUI with a DBE multiList data-type, it seems that each row list value ( which is of type string ) is limited by the amount of characters it can hold. Has anyone else come across this? I would imagine a string value of 700 characters would easily fit, but it does not. a8155058 - Mon Jan 16 15:05:39 EST 2017 |
Re: DOORS 9.6: multiList max of characters Sorry - this is not an answer to your actual question, but it seems that a list with 700 character entries will be completely unreadable anyway? In cases like this you should rather use a text field that will update when the user clicks an item and show the content of the item. In addition I would suggest you to use a listView instead of a multiList since it is much more versatile. Maybe this helps, Regards, Mathias |

Buffer buf = create(); int i; for (i = 0; i < 1000; i++) { buf+= i ""; buf += " " }
string sTemp1[] = { "Item1", "Item2", stringOf buf }
DB dbX = create("Example")
DBE dbeListView1 = listView(dbX, 0, 250, 5, sTemp1)
realize dbX
insertColumn(dbeListView1, 0, "ListView1", 5000, iconNone)
show dbX
Listviews automatically create scrollbars, once the column size is larger than the listview width. With the above example I can at least reproduce the issue, also on a listbox. I guess therefore you would need to change your GUI concept if you want to fit 700 char strings into there somewhere. Feel free to report this bug to IBM. Regards, Mathias |
